MOC Student Athletes Snyder & Henkle Nominated by CVAC for NCAA Woman of the Year
Mount Olive, N.C. – Mount Olive College golfer Lindsey Snyder and tennis player Lucia Henkle were honored by the Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference by being nominated as the the Conference Representatives for the 2006 NCAA Woman of the Year Award, it was announced Thursday by the CVAC office. The Woman of the Year Awards Program honors senior female student-athletes and recognizes excellence in athletics, academics and leadership. The NCAA will select 10 finalists from among the Division II conference winners, then narrow that number to three finalists. The NCAA will do the same for winners from Division I and Division III conferences.

Morgan Named Pfeiffer's Women's Golf Coach
Misenheimer, NC---Pfeiffer University is pleased to announce the hiring of Audrey Morgan as Head Women's Golf Coach. Audrey has previoulsy been the Assistant Golf Coach at her alma mater, Wingate University. She also has been working at the Charlotte National Golf Club. Morgan graduated from Wingate in 2004 with a degree in Sports Management. While at Wingate she was voted Team MVP twice and named to the All-SAC Team twice. After graduation she stayed at Wingate as the Assistant Men's and Women's Golf Coach.

St. Andrews Names James Robertson Men's and Women's Golf Coach
LAURINBURG, NC—Howard Reichner, St. Andrews Presbyterian College Athletic Director, has announced the hiring of James E. Robertson as the Knights’ new head men’s and women’s golf coach effective immediately. “ St. Andrews Presbyterian College is most fortunate to have such an experienced player, coach, and teacher heading our golf program,” said Reichner. “We welcome Coach Robertson to our St. Andrews Athletics team and look forward with excitement to the development of our golf program.”

Pfeiffer Women Claim 2nd Straight CVAC Golf Tourney Title; CVAC All-Tourney Team Announced
Hartsville, SC- The Pfeiffer University Women’s Golf Team captured their second straight Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference Title, as they won the 2006 CVAC Women’s Golf Championship at the Hartsville Country Club on Saturday.

CVAC Announces All-Conference Award Winners for Women's & Men's Golf
The Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference All-CVAC Teams were determined by vote from each Head Coach of participating institutions. Nominations are collected and then voted upon by ballot and tallied to determine Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, Coach of the Year, and All-CVAC First Teams, Second Teams, and Honorable Mention Teams. Awards were presented at the CVAC Golf Championship Banquet hosted by Coker College in Hartsville, South Carolina.
