Coach Walters Leaves His Marc on Barton Tennis
The lure of going home and coaching at the highest collegiate level was just too good to pass up. Thus, Barton men’s and women’s tennis coach Marc Walters is leaving the Bulldogs after seven years and 239 wins to direct the women’s tennis team at NCAA D-I West Virginia University in his hometown of Morgantown. He will assume his new duties at WVU on Aug. 21. The loss for the Barton community is doubled since Jessica Walters is the college’s Director of Health Services. The Walters are the proud parents of two young sons, Jameson (3) and Jarrett (1). Coach Walters’ parents and most of his brothers and sisters reside near the WVU campus, where he earned his master’s degree in Physical Education/Athletic Coaching in 1992.
