High Point, NC> In just its fourth year of competition, Mount Olive College won the 2011 Conference Carolinas Women’s Track and Field Championship and have been chosen as this year’s preseason favorite by league head coaches. The Trojans collected 200 points at last year’s championship, finishing 49 points ahead of the nearest competitor.

Mount Olive Women's Track & Field Claims Conference Carolinas Title; All-Conference, Freshman of Year, Coach of Year, Field Athlete & Track Athlete of Year Awards Presented
Mount Olive captured the team title with a total of 200 points, followed by Limestone College (151), Lees-McRae College (104), Queens University of Charlotte (68), Belmont Abbey College (54), and Barton College (22). CHARLOTTE, N.C.- On the strength of Tanya Zeferjahn (Hesperia, Calif., Hesperia High School) and Meagan Nedlo 's (Mt. Pleasant, TX, Pittsburg, HS) 10k/5k doubles, Queens University of Charlotte nabbed the highest NCAA championship team finish for all sports in school history. The Royals, who entered the meet ranked 15th in the nation, finished the championships with 27 points in sixth place, while Angelo State won the team title with 87.

Barton Adds Track & Field, Godlock to Lead Teams
WILSON, N.C. - Barton College is pleased to announce the addition of intercollegiate men's and women's track and field for the 2010-11 year, bringing the total number of teams fielded by the Bulldogs to 14. The last sport addition for the institution was the establishment of men's and women's cross country teams 10 years ago.

Queens Crouch Wins 1,500-m National Title By .10s
SAN ANGELO, Texas- Queens' runner Michael Crouch (Yucca Valley, Calif., Yucca Valley ) held the no. 1 seed in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championship in the 1,500-meter event Saturday in San Angelo, Texas and he finished the race in the same position to claim National Championship Title in the event. The title is the first for Queens' in outdoor track on the men's side and a new Queens school record in the event.

Bill Hodge Named Men's and Women's Track and Field Coach At Belmont Abbey College
Bill Hodge, a multi-time coach of the year honoree in four different Division I conferences and a highly successful recruiter with an emphasis on success in and out of the classroom, has been named head mens and womens track and field coach at Belmont Abbey College, according to an announcement from Director of Athletics Richard Dull. Hodge will also assume head mens and womens cross country coaching duties upon the retirement of Brother Paul Shanley, O.S.B. after the 2009 season.

While many league members previously sponsored outdoor teams, this is the first year that enough schools are fielding full teams, in order for the sport to become a qualified conference sponsored sport.
