INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA has announced the field of 80 teams and 32 student-athletes that have been selected to participate in regional competition of the 2012 NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championships. The regional competitions will be conducted May 7-9.

GAFFNEY, S.C. – Limestone College Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Mike Cerino announced today that a national search for a full-time coach for the men’s and women’s golf programs has been launched. The selected coach will replace Doc Lemmons who has led the programs since 2003. Chris Wiley has been named the interim coach for both programs.

Belmont Abbey head men's and women's golf coach Jim Haughey has stepped down from his position, effective immediately. A national search for the position will begin immediately. Administrative cut ends Royals men's golf championship early, Lasso finishes 11th
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Queens University of Charlotte did not get a chance to improve their standings on the last day of the 2010 NCAA Men’s Golf Championship at the Sagamore Club in Noblesville, Ind. due to an NCAA administrative cut option. The field was cut to the top 15 teams and six individuals not on members of the 15-team field. Though the team did not make the cut, the Royals had one individual able to play in the last round, Ben Lasso (Falls Church, Va., Heritage Academy), and he finished the tournament in 11th place.

The Barton men and the Pfeiffer women claimed the 2009 Conference Carolinas and women's golf championships, hosted by Belmont Abbey College at the Tanglewood Park Championship course. Barton won by two shots over Coker, while Pfeiffer won by nine shots over Belmont Abbey College. Belmont Abbey junior Carley Warrington and Limestone's Kyle Scruggs won the individual titles. Warring won by two strokes, while Scruggs posted a 216 to win by one shot.

Coker's Handrigan Resigns as Golf Coach
Hartsville, SC- John Handrigan, Head Golf Coach at Coker College has resigned to take the Head Coaching job for Queens University of Charlotte’s men’s golf program. Coach Handrigan served as the head coach for the Cobra golf program since 2003.

Coker Alum Shots 69 at PGA Wyndham Championship
Greensboro, NC- An opening round of 69 (-3) is not too shabby for Chris Taylor’s first ever PGA Tour event. Taylor, a 2003 graduate of Coker College, is tied for 55th after day one of the Wyndham Championship at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, NC.
