Conference Carolinas Announces 2018 All-Conference Student Support Team


HIGH POINT, N.C. – Six students from six member institutions have been named to the 2018 Conference Carolinas All-Conference Student Support Team; the Conference office announced on Monday (May. 14) afternoon.

The six students honored were Anna Whalen of Belmont Abbey College, Reagan Dempsey of King University, Siarra Walker of Lees-McRae College, Daniel Rudolfsson of University of Mount Olive, Sky Dupree of North Greenville University and Daniel Dees of Southern Wesleyan University.

The All-Conference Student Support Team was created in 2016-17 to recognize one student from each member institution who supports an athletic team and/or athletic department through service. Examples of service include, but are not limited to: team managers, statistical support, video service, and/or game day operations support.

To be eligible for the Conference Carolinas All-Conference Student Support Team a student must meet the following criteria:

  1. Junior or senior academic status as determined by the Registrar’s Office.
  2. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale on all work completed at the member institution.
  3. GPA is to be based on the previous fall semester’s grades (e.g. cumulative GPA through Fall 2017).
  4. Must have completed at least two full-time semesters at the member institution (currently in their third semester or beyond)
  5. A student-athlete who has exhausted their eligibility is eligible to win this award if they are assisting their former team and/or athletic department in such a manner as described above.

The 2018 Conference Carolinas All-Conference Student Support Team members are:
 
Daniel Dees (Southern Wesleyan): Dees is a senior computer science major with a 3.54 grade point average. Over the last three years Daniel has served as the men’s basketball manager and a member of the game day operations crew for basketball.

Reagan Dempsey (King): Dempsey is a senior athletic training major with a 3.16 grade point average. For three years Reagan has served as a student athletic trainer for the King sports medicine department.

Sky Dupree (North Greenville): Dupree is a junior sport management major with a 3.65 grade point average. During the last two years Sky has served the NGU athletic department as a member of its game day operations crew. 

Daniel Rudolfsson (Mount Olive): Rudolfsson is a senior business administration with a 3.96 grade point average. Serving the UMO athletic department over the last two years, Daniel has worked as a student worker. Spending time assisting with game management, game day support, marketing and administrative support.

Siarra Walker (Lees-McRae): Walker is a senior athletic training major with a 4.0 grade point average. Siarra has served as a game day operations crew member for the Lees-McRae athletic department during the last two years.

Anna Whalen (Belmont Abbey): Whalen is a senior athletic training major with a 3.62 grade point average. For the past two years, Anna has logged over 400 hours assisting the Belmont Abbey athletic training staff with its day-to-day operations. 


Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 11 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College is currently completing the NCAA Membership Process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
