Mount Olive's Ellis Named Week 12 Baseball Player of the Week

               

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive's Drew Ellis was named the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Apr. 17-23.

A junior from Blythewood, S.C., Ellis led No. 1 Mount Olive to a 5-0 week by batting .467 with seven hits, six being extra-base knocks, and five RBI.


Mount Olive's Mozingo Named Week 11 Baseball Player of the Week

              

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive's Zach Mozingo  was named the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Apr. 10-16.

Mozingo, a senior from Goldsboro, N.C., led No. 1 Mount Olive to a 4-0 week, which included a sweep of Erskine to clinch the Conference Carolinas regular season title. He batted .286 with three homers and seven RBI while also earning a save on the week. Mozingo's best outing came in a 7-4 game one win over Erskine, as he went 2-for-4 with two homer runs, three RBI and a save.


Barton's Hawke Named Week 10 Baseball Player of the Week

             

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College's Calvin Hawke was named the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Apr. 3-9.

A senior from Wendell, N.C., Hawke led the Bulldogs to a 3-1 week, highlighted by a three-game sweep of regionally-ranked Erskine. He batted .500 with six hits, including two doubles and a triple, and four RBI. Hawke's best outing was a 3-for-4 showing in a 10-9 game one win over Erskine, as he registered a triple and three RBI.


King's Castaneda Named Week 9 Baseball Player of the Week

            

HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University's J.P. Castaneda was named the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Mar. 27 - Apr. 2.

Castaneda, a junior from Miami, Fla., batted .600 with 12 hits and seven RBI to lead the Tornado to a 3-1-1 record last week. In a one-run loss, Castaneda had his finest performance, going 5-for-5 with a double, two stolen bases and one run scored.


Belmont Abbey's Cureton Named Week 8 Baseball Player of the Week

           

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College's Luke Cureton was named the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Mar. 20-26.

A sophomore from Indianapolis, Ind., Cureton posted a .412 batting average by collecting seven hits, including three homers and two doubles, while having 10 RBI on the week for the Crusaders. His top performance was a 2-for-4 showing at the plate in a 24-10 win over Pfeiffer, as he hit a double and homer and drove in five runs.


Barton's Webster Named Week 7 Baseball Player of the Week

          

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College's Andrew Webster was named the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Mar. 13-19.

Webster, a senior from Pittsboro, N.C., led the Bulldogs to a 4-1 record after having a spectacular week at the plate. He collected 13 hits, including eight extra-base hits (5 2b, 3 hr), for a .765 average and seven RBI. His best outing came in Barton's lone loss, as he went 5-for-5 with two homers, two doubles and three RBI.


Belmont Abbey's Beinlich Named Week 6 Baseball Player of the Week

         

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College's Nick Beinlich was named the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Mar. 6-12.

A senior from Easton, Pa., Beinlich batted .625 with 10 hits and led the Crusaders to a 4-0 week. Of the 10 hits, six were of the extra-base variety, including four home runs. Beinlich would also score 10 runs while driving in 11 RBI. He went 3-for-5 with three homers and five RBI in a 17-13 win over Barton for his best outing of the week.


North Greenville's Brown Named Week 5 Baseball Player of the Week

        

HIGH POINT, N.C. – North Greenville University's Ryan Brown was named the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 27 - Mar. 5.

Brown, a junior from Columbia, S.C., led the Crusaders to a 5-0 week, which included a win over No. 3 USC Aiken and a three-game Conference sweep of Belmont Abbey. He batted .467 with seven hits (four XBH) and seven RBI and eight runs scored. Brown's highlight of the week was a three-run bomb in NGU's 9-8 win over USC Aiken.


Limestone's Allen Named Week 4 Baseball Player of the Week

       

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College's Chase Allen was named the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 20-26.

A sophomore from Sharpsburg, Ga., Allen is the second Saint in as many weeks to produce at a high rate for Limestone. He batted .529 with nine hits, including four doubles and four home runs, and 12 RBI. Allen's best game was a 3-for-4 outing in a 12-4 win over Barton, which saw him tally a double and smash two homers to go along with four RBI.


Limestone's Lowery Named Week 3 Baseball Player of the Week

      

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College's Garrett Lowery was named the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 13-19.

Lowery, a senior from Dallas, N.C., produced at a high level for the Saints, as he led them to a 3-2 week. The outfielder registered a .476 average on 10 hits, including three doubles and four homers, to go along with 11 RBI. His best outing of the week came in a 14-9 win over Gannon, as he went 4-for-4 with two homers, six RBI and three runs scored.


Erskine's Davey Named Week 2 Baseball Player of the Week

     

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Erkine College's Chaz Davey was named the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 6-12.

A sophomore from North Augusta, S.C., Davey had an extraordinary week at the plate for the Fleet. The third baseman batted .533 with eight hits, with six being home runs, batted in nine RBI, scored 10 runs and notched 26 total bases. Davey's posted two hits in each of his four games last week, with his two hits in each game of the three-game series against Salem International being home runs.


Mount Olive's Surum Named Week 1 Baseball Player of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive's Ricky Surum was named the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 30 - Feb. 5.

Surum, a senior from Atlanta, Ga., six hits and a .667 average at the plate to lead the Trojans to a three-game sweep of regionally ranked Lander University. He collected five extra-base hits (3 2B, 1 3B and 1 HR) and drove in four RBI. Surum's best performance was in the series finale as he went-4-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, two runs scored and four RBI.
