Week 12 Softball Player of the Week: Chandler Walker (Pfeiffer)

Pfeiffer's Walker Named Week 12 Softball Player of the Week

              

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Pfeiffer University's Chandler Walker was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Apr. 17-23.

A junior from Bristol, Conn., Walker batted .462 with two doubles, a homer and nine RBI to lead the No. 4 Falcons to a 4-0 record last week.


King's Riddle Named Week 11 Softball Player of the Week

             

HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University's Hannah Riddle was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Apr. 10-16.

Riddle, a junior from Greenville, Tenn., led the Tornado to a 4-0 record, including a sweep of the No. 18 Limestone. She batted .667 with two doubles, a homer and four RBI. Riddle's week was highlighted by going 1-for-2 with a home run and two RBI in the game one win over Limestone.


Pfeiffer's Pennell Named Week 10 Softball Player of the Week

            

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Pfeiffer University's Makenzie Pennell was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Apr. 3-9.

A freshman from Taylorsville, N.C., Pennell picked up her third POTW honor this year and fourth for Pfeiffer after having a solid weekend for the No. 3 Falcons. In a doubleheader with Southern Wesleyan, Pennell batted .600 (3-for-5) with three home runs, five RBI and four runs scored. In the process, she broke the Pfeiffer single-season RBI (49) record and sits second all-time in single-season home runs with 10.


Limestone's Hill Named Week 9 Softball Player of the Week

           

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College's Caroline Hill was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Mar. 27 - Apr. 2.

Hill, a senior from Inman, S.C., wrapped up her second straight Player of the Week honor and third on the season after leading the No. 24 Saints to a 5-1 week. She produced a .533 average on eight hits, including five doubles and one homer, to go with eight RBI. In a pair of shutout victories over Barton, Hill would go a combined 5-for-6 with three doubles and a home run with five RBI.


Limestone's Hill Named Week 8 Softball Player of the Week

          

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College's Caroline Hill was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Mar. 20-26.

A senior from Inman, S.C., Hill posted 10 hits, four extra-base knocks, for a .417 batting average to go with 11 RBI and led the No. 22 Saints to a 6-2 week. Her top performance was a 2-for-3 day against Southern Wesleyan in a 9-1 win, where she tallied five RBI on a triple and a homer.


Pfeiffer's Sherrill Named Week 7 Softball Player of the Week

          

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Pfeiffer University's Vada Blue Sherrill was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Mar. 13-19.

Sherrill, a sophomore from Hiddenite, N.C., led the Falcons to a 5-1 week, including a win over No. 23 Limestone. She batted .412 with seven hits, nine runs scored, five stolen bases and one RBI on the week.


Limestone's Hill Named Week 6 Softball Player of the Week

         

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College's Caroline Hill was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Mar. 6-12.

A senior from Inman, S.C., Hill paced the Saints to a 4-0 week after hitting .571 with eight hits, five of which were extra-base hits, and six RBI with a 1.286 slugging percentage. Hill's 3-for-4 outing against Lees-McRae in a 9-1 win would be her best outing, as she posted a double and homer with two RBI.


King's Riddle Named Week 5 Softball Player of the Week

        

HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University's Hannah Riddle was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 27 - Mar. 5.

Riddle, a junior from Greeneville, Tenn., had an epic week at the plate for the Tornado, hitting .765 while collecting 13 hits. She would tally seven extra-base hits, including five doubles, and drive in nine RBI on the week. Riddle's best outing would be a 5-for-5 performance in a 25-0 win over West Virginia Tech, where she hit three doubles, one homer and posted seven RBI.


Pfeiffer's Pennell Named Week 4 Softball Player of the Week

       

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Pfeiffer University's Makenzie Pennell was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 20-26.

A freshman from Taylorsville, N.C., Pennell paced the Falcons to a 6-0 week by batting .350 with two doubles, two home runs and six RBI. Her biggest performance came in a 7-6 come-from-behind win over Columbus State. Pennell went 2-for-5 with three RBI, which included a game-tying three-run bomb in the sixth inning to lead the Falcons to the comeback.


North Greenville's Finley Named Week 3 Softball Player of the Week

      

HIGH POINT, N.C. – North Greenville University's Shayna Finley was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 13-19.

Finley, a senior from Spartanburg, S.C., led the Crusaders to a 4-2 week after batting .450 with nine hits, including a double and four home runs, and seven RBI. In her best outing of the week, Finley would go 3-for-4 against Tusculum with a home run and two RBI.


Pfeiffer's Pennell Named Week 2 Softball Player of the Week

     

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Pfeiffer University's Makenzie Pennell was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 6-12.

A freshman from Taylorsville, N.C., Pennell had a stellar weekend to kickoff her collegiate career. She posted nine hits for a .600 average with two doubles and two homers. Pennell's week was highlighted in a win over Queens, as the freshman cranked a two-run walkoff homer to propel the Falcons to a 5-3 win over the Royals.


Barton's Kelly Named Week 1 Softball Player of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College's Megan Kelly was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 30 - Feb. 5.

Kelly, a senior from Plymouth, N.C., put together a four-hit week with three extra-base hits (1 2B, 1 3B and 1 HR) and three RBI to lead the Bulldogs to a 2-0 opening week. Her best performance was a 3-for-3 outing with a triple and homer and three RBI.
