Limestone’s Walter Named Week 11 Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week

             

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College midfield Clark Walter has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for games played from Apr. 8-14, the Conference announced today. This marks the second POTW for Walter and fourth overall for Limestone.

Walter, a junior from Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, led No. 2 Limestone to a pair of Conference Carolinas victories over then-No. 7 Belmont Abbey and Barton. Walter notched 12 points on 10 goals and two assists with three ground balls and two caused turnovers.

In a 15-10 win over Belmont Abbey, Walter netted six goals and dished out two helpers for eight points while causing two turnovers and picking up one ground ball. Walter would then find the back of the net four times with two ground balls in the Saints' 20-10 double-up of Barton.


North Greenville’s Landreth Named Week 10 Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week

             

HIGH POINT, N.C. – North Greenville University attack Ethan Landreth has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for games played from Apr. 1-7, the Conference announced today.

A senior from Moonville S.C., Landreth led North Greenville to a pair of wins over Mars Hill and Emmanuel last week. Landreth put up 16 points on 10 goals and six assists last week.

In a 23-5 blowout of Mars Hill, Landreth posted 10 points by netting six goals and dishing out four helpers. Landreth then tallied six points on four goals and two assists in a 24- 8 victory over Emmanuel.


Barton’s Copio Named Week 9 Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week

             

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College midfield Jake Copio has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for games played from Mar. 25-31, the Conference announced today.

Copio, a sophomore from Smyrna, Del., led Barton to a pair of wins over Wilmington (Del.) and Emmanuel last week. Copio put up 13 points on seven assists and six goals with four ground balls last week.

In a narrow 13-12 win over Wilmington (Del.), Copio netted two goals and one helper for three points while scooping up three ground balls. Copio closed out the week with 10 points on six assists and four goals with one ground ball in a 19-14 win over Emmanuel.


Belmont Abbey’s Osborne Named Week 8 Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week

             

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College attack Liam Osborne has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for games played from Mar. 18-24, the Conference announced today. This marks the third POTW for Osborne and fourth overall for Belmont abbey.

A senior from Bowmanville, Ontario, Osborne led No. 8 Belmont Abbey to a pair of wins over Lynn and Florida Southern last week. Osborne put up 12 points on 11 goals and one assist with four ground balls last week.

In a 15-10 win over Lynn, Osborne would net four goals and scoop up two ground balls. Osborne would post eight points on seven goals and one assist with twi ground balls in a 14-9 win over Florida Southern to close out the week.


Limestone’s Sundown Named Week 7 Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week

             

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College attack Larson Sundown has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for games played from Mar. 11-17, the Conference announced today. This marks the first POTW for Sundown and third overall for Limestone.

Sundown, a junior from Basom, N.Y., averaged seven points per game and led No. 2 Limestone to a pair of wins over then-nationally ranked No. 13 Rockhurst and No. 9 Seton Hill last week. Sundown registered 14 points on 12 goals and two assists with eight ground balls last week.

In a 16-3 rout of Rockhurst to start the week, Sundown tallied eight goals and dished out one helper for eight points while adding three ground balls. Sundown would propel Limestone to a narrow 15-14 win over Seton Hill by scoring five goals and handing out one assist with five ground balls.


Mount Olive’s Avarello Named Week 6 Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week

             

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive goalie Andrew Avarello has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for games played from Mar. 4-10, the Conference announced today.

A sophomore from Clarence, N.Y., Avarello led No. 15 Mount Olive to a 2-0 record last week after collecting 30 saves and a 73.2 save percentage with seven ground balls in 120 minutes of action last week.

Avarello began his week by allowing only three goals with 12 saves and two ground balls in an 11-3 Mount Olive win over Walsh. Avarello would then come up big in a 12-8 win over Florida Southern, as he made 18 saves in the contest with five ground balls.


Belmont Abbey’s Osborne Named Week 5 Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week

             

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College attack Liam Osborne has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for games played from Feb. 25 - Mar. 3, the Conference announced today. This marks the second POTW for Osborne and the third overall for Belmont Abbey.

Osborne, a senior from Bowmanville, Ontario, led No. 4 Belmont Abbey to a 2-0 record last week after posting 12 points on seven goals and five assists with seven ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Osborne started the week with four goal and three assists for seven points with four ground balls in an 18-6 rout of Barton. Osborne then put up five points on three goals and two assists with three ground balls and two caused turnovers in a 14-13 win over No. 19 Rockhurst. 


Limestone’s Papa Named Week 4 Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week

             

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College attack Tyler Papa has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for games played from Feb. 18-24, the Conference announced today. This marks the first POTW for Papa and the second overall for Limestone.

A junior from Manilus, N.Y., Papa tallied four points on three goals and one assist with two ground balls in No. 3 Limestone's 13-10 win over No. 7 Mercyhurst.


Belmont Abbey’s Haas Named Week 3 Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week

             

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College attack Noah Haas has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for games played from Feb. 11-17, the Conference announced today. This marks the first POTW for Haas and the second overall for Belmont Abbey.

Haas, a freshman from Gulf Breeze, Fla., tallied eight points on seven goals and one assist with two ground balls in No. 5 Belmont Abbey's 21-15 victory over No. 12 Lenoir-Rhyne.

Osborne, a senior from Bowmanville, Ontario, registered eight points on seven goals and one assist with two ground balls in the No. 10 Crusaders 13-9 win over No. 6 Tampa.
