Mount Olive's Marticke Named Week 7 Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

      

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive's Michele Marticke has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Feb. 4-10, the Conference announced today.

Swiss native Michele Marticke vaulted his way to fourth in the UMO record books with a height of 4.05m (13' 3.5") as a freshman. With this mark, Marticke ranks fifth in the conference this season.


Barton's Clemons Named Week 6 Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

      

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College's Micah Clemons has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Jan. 31 - Feb. 1 , the Conference announced today.

Barton junior Micah Clemons had an outstanding meet this past Sunday at the Vince Brown Invitational in Newport News, Va. Clemons won the weight throw with a mark of 17.98m (59' 0") while taking fourth in the shot put with a mark of 14.65m (48' 0.75"). In the weight throw, Clemons was able to set a new school record, secure the top league mark and rank No. 29 in the nation. In addition, Clemons qualified provisionally to the NCAA Division II Championships in the weight throw. In the shot put, Clemons currently ranks second in the league. Clemons won the Conference Carolinas weekly field honor earlier this year and is a 2018 All-Southeast Region honoree in both events.


Mount Olive's Bayles Named Week 5 Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C.University of Mount Olive's Martin Bayles has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Jan. 24 - Jan. 28 , the Conference announced today.

The Mount Olive native Bayles had a record-breaking day in the men's pole vault at the Liberty Kick-Off with a mark of 4.55m (14' 11") placing seventh in the event. A leading senior on the UMO track and field team, Bayles now holds the school record and sits atop the Conference Carolinas rankings in the pole vault.


Limestone's Bennett Named Week 4 Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College's Brandon Bennett has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Jan. 17 - Jan. 21 , the Conference announced today.

Limestone freshman Brandon Bennett took home top honors in the men's open division of the triple jump at the Gamecock Invitational with a mark of 14.17m (46' 6") improving his previous best mark by nearly a half-meter. Off to a strong start to his collegiate athletics career, Bennett now holds the third-best mark in program history and top mark in the conference this season.


Barton's Clemons Named Week 3 Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College's Micah Clemons has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Jan. 10 - Jan. 14 , the Conference announced today.

Barton junior Micah Clemons won the men's weight throw at the JDL January College Kick-off with a mark of 16.81m (55'2") while finishing second in the shot put with a mark of 14.62m (47'11.75") to lead the Bulldogs at the JDL January College Kick-off. Clemons leads the conference in both the shot put and weight throw, holding the number one spot on the conference charts. Clemons was an all-region honoree last year in both events while finishing second (shot put) and weight throw (third) at the Conference Carolinas Championship last year.

Barton's Russell Named Week 1 Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College's Larry Russell has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Nov. 29 - Dec. 3 , the Conference announced today.

A two-time NCAA Division II All-American senior from Sicklerville, N.J., Russell started his indoor season off with a bang at the JDL College Kickoff when he provisionally qualified for the 2019 championships with a 7.25-meter mark in the long jump (23'9.5"), good for second place overall at the JDL Kickoff Classic. Russell also finished fourth in the high jump with a mark of 2.0 meters (6'6.75"). Ranked first and second in the conference in the long jump and high jump, respectively, both marks also qualified him for the conference meet.
