Mount Olive's Miller Named Week 5 Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive's Luke Miller has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets held April 9 - 16, the Conference announced today.

Mount Olive freshman from London, England, Luke Miller, had a successful showing at the Pickle Field Day Relays, setting a new school record for the Trojans and earning a potential bid to the national championship with an NCAA Provisional qualifying mark in the javelin. Miller threw a distance of  61.98m (203' 4") to win the event and holds the top mark in the league.


Belmont Abbey's Pautler Named Week 4 Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

  

HIGH POINT, N.C.Belmont Abbey College's Dominic Pautler has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for meets held April 2 - 8, the Conference announced today.

Belmont Abbey sophomore Dominic Pautler had a record-breaking weekend at the Phoenix Invitational in Elon, N.C., setting two new school records for the Crusaders. Pautler cleared 3.97m (13' 0.25") in the pole vault, topping his own record he set last April, then followed the effort with a long jump of 6.84m (22' 5.25") on his first attempt of the day. That mark stood through six jumps for a fourth-place finish.


Barton's Clemons Named Week 3 Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

  

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College's Micah Clemons has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets held March 26 - April 1, the Conference announced today.

Barton junior Micah Clemons, the reigning league field athlete of the week, had another strong performance this past weekend at The Adidas Trojan Challenge in Mount Olive, N.C., winning the hammer throw (186' 1") for the second straight meet in addition to a third-place finish in the shot put (49' 2"). Clemons also threw a distance of 137' 4" in the discus for a sixth place finish, topping off his nineteen point contribution to the Barton team total. Clemons sits atop Conference Carolinas charts in the men's shot put and hammer throw for this outdoor season, while holding third and eighth positions in the men's discus and javelin, respectively.


Barton's Clemons Named Week 2 Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

  

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College's Micah Clemons has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets held March 19 - 25, the Conference announced today.

Micah Clemons had an impressive showing at the Winthrop/Adidas Invitational in the throws this weekend. Clemons provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships with his school-record 191' 0" in the hammer throw. Clemons finished fifth in the event and ranks first in the conference. Clemons also threw a mark of 138' 9" in the discus, which is also the best mark in the conference for this season.


Mount Olive's Teeple Named Week 1 Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

 

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive's Zach Teeple has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Outdoor Field Athletes of the Week, for meets held March 12-18, the Conference announced today.

Teeple, entering his senior outdoor season, placed himself on the Division II qualifying list in the javelin with a mark of 60.72 meters (199' 2") at the Shamrock Invitational. This mark moved Teeple into second place all-time in the UMO record books. His provisional qualifying mark is currently the sixth furthest in Division II and leads both the conference by more than thirteen feet.


OUTDOOR SEASON
