Barton's Mandilaris Named Week 11 Men's Volleyball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Barton College right side Angelos Mandilaris has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played from Mar. 11-17, the Conference announced today. This marks the third POTW for Mandilaris and sixth overall for Barton.

Mandilaris, a junior from Chalkida, Greece, led Barton to a 2-0 Conference Carolinas record last week with wins over Erskine and Emmanuel. Mandilaris hit .394 and averaged five kills and .86 blocks per set in the two matches.

In a 3-0 sweep of Erskine, Mandilaris put away 22 kills while tallying three blocks and two digs. Mandilaris closed out the week with 13 kills, four digs, three blocks and an ace in a 3-1 win over Emmanuel.


Mount Olive's Adebisi Named Week 10 Men's Volleyball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.University of Mount Olive right side Iyanu Adebisi has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played from Mar. 4-10, the Conference announced today.

A sophomore from Ibadan, Nigeria, Adebisi hit .381 and missed a 20-kill match by one with his 19 kills. Adebisi would secure his first double-double of the season by registering 15 digs to go with two blocks and a service ace.


Limestone's Rivera Named Week 9 Men's Volleyball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Limestone College outside hitter Geraldo Rivera has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played from Feb. 25 - Mar. 3, the Conference announced today.

Rivera, a sophomore from Carolina, Puerto Rico, hit .441 and narrowly missed out on a 20-20 match by posting 18 kills (4.50 k/s) and 19 digs (4.75 d/s) in Limestone's 3-1 win over Emmanuel. Rivera would also tally two service aces in the macth.


Barton's Mandilaris Named Week 8 Men's Volleyball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Barton College right side Angelos Mandilaris has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played from Feb. 18-24, the Conference announced today. This marks the second POTW for Mandilaris and fifth overall for Barton.

A junior from Chalkida, Greece, Mandilaris and the Bulldogs went 2-0 last week with wins over Mount Olive and Queens (NC). Mandilaris tallied 28 kills (4.00 k/s) on .362 hitting to go with 11 digs, five blocks and four aces for the week.

In a 3-1 win over Mount Olive, Mandilaris registered 18 kills on .382 hitting with four aces, three digs and one block. Mandilaris then posted 10 kills on .333 hitting with eight digs and four blocks in a 3-0 sweep of Queens (NC).


Barton's Iglesias Named Week 7 Men's Volleyball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Barton College outside hitter Adrian Iglesias has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played from Feb. 11-17, the Conference announced today. This marks the first POTW for Iglesias and fourth overall for Barton.

Iglesias, a freshman from Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, paced the Bulldogs to a 3-0 record with three sweeps last week. Iglesias notched 29 kills (3.22 k/s) on .558 hitting to go with 10 digs and four blocks for the week.

In Barton's first sweep of the week against Coker, Iglesias tallied 11 kills on .500 hitting with one dig. Iglesias then put away 10 kills on .467 hitting with four digs, one block and one ace in a 3-0 sweep of King, which moved the Bulldogs into first-place in the Conference standings. Iglesias closed out the week with eight kills, five digs, three blocks in a 3-0 victory over Lees-McRae.


Belmont Abbey's Maxwell Named Week 6 Men's Volleyball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Belmont Abbey College outside hitter Liam Maxwell has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played from Feb. 4-10, the Conference announced today. This marks both the second POTW for Maxwell and Belmont Abbey.

A junior from Manahawkin, N.J., Maxwell led the Crusaders to a 2-1 record last week with. He notched 60 kills (5.00 k/s) on .295 hitting to go with 18 digs and six blocks for the week.

In a 3-1 win over Limestone, Maxwell would notch 20 kills on .333 hitting with six digs and one block. Against Mount Olive, Maxwell collected 21 kills with five digs and one block in a 3-1 loss. Maxwell closed out the week with 19 kills, seven digs and four blocks in a 3-1 win over St. Francis (PA).


North Greenville's Gilbert Named Week 5 Men's Volleyball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.North Greenville University outside hitter Jackson Gilbert has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played from Jan. 28 - Feb. 3, the Conference announced today.

Gilbert, a junior from Hilliard, Ohio, paced the Crusaders to a 3-0 record last week with a pair of wins coming over Conference Carolinas foes Barton and Mount Olive. He notched 39 kills (3.64 k/s) on .364 hitting to go with nine digs, eight services aces and four blocks for the week.

In a 3-0 sweep of Bluefield College, Gilbert would see one set of action and collect three aces, two digs and one kill on two attacks. Against Mount Olive, Gilbert would post 19 kills with four aces, two digs, two blocks and one assist to lead the Crusaders to a five-set victory over the Trojans. Gilbert would then tie the NGU single-game kill record with 20 kills to go with five digs, two blocks, one ace and one assist in a 3-2 win over Barton.


Barton's Mandilaris Named Week 4 Men's Volleyball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Barton College right side Angelos Mandilaris has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played from Jan. 21-27, the Conference announced today. This marks the first POTW for Mandilaris and third overall for Barton.

A junior from Chalkida, Greece, Mandilaris got Barton off to a 2-0 start in Conference Carolinas play last week with victories over Emmanuel and Erskine. He put away 38 kills (6.33 k/s) on .429 hitting to go with 12 digs (2.00 d/s), seven services aces (1.17 sa/s) and six blocks (1.00 b/s) for the week.

Mandilaris registered 19 kills on a .286 hitting clip, while adding seven aces, five digs and four blocks in a 3-0 sweep of Emmanuel. In a 3-0 sweep against Erskine, Mandilaris would follow that up with 19 more kills on .643 hitting with seven digs and two blocks.


Barton's Mandilaris Named Week 3 Men's Volleyball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Barton College outside hitter Vasilis Mandilaris  has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played from Jan. 14-20, the Conference announced today. This marks both the second POTW for Mandilaris and Barton this season.

Mandilaris, a senior from Chalkida, Greece, collected MVP honors at the Off the Block Grow the Game Challenge after tallying 40 kills (3.64 k/s) on a .342 hitting percentage to go with 13 digs, six blocks and three service aces. His play propelled Barton to a 3-0 record and Grow the Game Challenge title, which included a wins over No. 15 Grand Canyon and Southern California.

Mandilaris notched 17 kills on a .250 hitting clip, while adding six digs, four blocks and one ace in a 3-2 victory over Grand Canyon, which saw Barton trailing 2-0 before the comeback. Mandilaris would continue his stellar play in a 3-1 win over USC, as he put away 15 kills on .367 hitting with four digs in the match. In a 3-0 sweep of Quincy, Mandilaris saw action in two sets and hit .538 to register eight kills with three digs, two aces and two blocks in the contest.


Belmont Abbey's Maxwell Named Week 2 Men's Volleyball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Belmont Abbey College outside hitter Liam Maxwell  has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played from Jan. 7-13, the Conference announced today.

A junior from Manahawkin, N.J., Maxwell put away 34 kills for a 3.78 kills per set on .388 hitting to go with 14 digs (1.56), eight service aces (.89) and six blocks (.67) to lead Belmont Abbey to a 1-1 record last week.

In a 3-2 win over Campbellsville, Maxwell tallied 19 kills on .455 hitting and narrowly missed out on a double-double with nine digs, while serving up five aces and adding four blocks. He closed out the week with 15 kills on .324 hitting, five digs, three aces and two blocks in a 3-1 loss to Lincoln Memorial.


Barton's Mandilaris Named Week 1 Men's Volleyball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Barton College outside hitter Vasilis Mandilaris  has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played from Jan. 4-6, the Conference announced today.

Mandilaris, a senior from Chalkida, Greece, registered 10 kills for a 2.50 kills per set average on a .400 hitting percentage to lead the Barton attack in a 3-1 setback to George Mason. He also added three digs, three service aces, one block and one assist to his stat sheet in the match.
