Mount Olive's Lassiter Named Week 12 Softball Player of the Week

    

University of Mount Olive's Cassandra Lassiter was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Apr. 15-21. This marks the first POTW for Lassiter and fifth overall for Mount Olive.

A freshman from Pikeville, N.C., Lassiter led Mount Olive to a 5-0 record last week. Lassiter hit .556 with 10 hits, including five extra-base hits (4 2B, HR), with 11 RBI and nine runs scored. Lassiter's best performance came in an 8-0 game one win over Winston-Salem State, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and five RBI and two runs scored.


Limestone's Brewington Named Week 11 Softball Player of the Week

    

Limestone College's Vic Brewington was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Apr. 8-14. This marks the second POTW for Brewington and sixth overall for Limestone

Brewington, a freshman from Walterboro, S.C., led the Limestone to a 4-0 record last week, including two Conference Carolinas wins against Converse. Brewington hit .583 with seven hits, including six extra-base hits (4 2B, 2 HR), with 11 RBI and three runs scored. Brewington's best performance came in an 8-0 game one win over Converse, going 2-for-3 with one double, one homer, four RBI and one run scored.


Lees-McRae's Cooke Named Week 10 Softball Player of the Week

    

Lees-McRae College's Faith Cooke was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Apr. 1-7. This marks the first POTW for Cooke and second overall for Lees-McRae.

A freshman from Denver, N.C., Cooke led the Bobcats to a 1-1 record last week in Conference Carolinas play against Belmont Abbey. Cooke hit .750 with six hits, including four extra-base hits (3 2B, HR), with four RBI and three runs scored. Cooke's best performance came in a 13-8 game one win, going 4-for-4 with two doubles, one homer, three RBI and three runs scored.


Southern Wesleyan's Clanton Named Week 9 Softball Player of the Week

    

Southern Wesleyan University's Lydia Clanton was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Mar. 25-31. This marks both the second POTW for Clanton and Southern Wesleyan.

Clanton, a freshman from Waynesboro, Miss., led the Warriors to a 4-0 record last week in Conference Carolinas play with sweeps of Barton and Mount Olive. Clanton hit .667 with eight hits, including five extra-base hits (4 2B, HR), with eight RBI and five runs scored. Clanton's best performance came in a 7-6 game one win over Barton, going 2-for-2 with a double, three RBI and two runs scored.


Limestone's Brewington Named Week 8 Softball Player of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College's Vic Brewington was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Mar. 18-24.

A freshman from Walterboro, S.C., Brewington led the Saints to a 3-3 overall record last week, including 2-2 in Conference Carolinas play. Brewington hit .556 with 10 hits, including three extra-base hits (2B, 3B, HR), with seven RBI and three runs scored. Brewington's best performance came in a 6-5 game one win over UNC Pembroke, going 3-for-4 with a triple, home run, three RBI and one run scored.


Barton's Onega Named Week 7 Softball Player of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College's Jessica Onega was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Mar. 11-17.

Onega, a senior from Belle Glade, Fla., put on a hitting clinic and led Barton to a 5-1 record, including 3-1 in Conference Carolinas play. Onega hit .650 with 13 hits, including a double, with nine RBI and seven runs scored. Onega' best performance came in a 15-2 game one win over Elizabeth City St., going 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored.


Mount Olive's Childress Named Week 6 Softball Player of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive's Heather Childress was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Mar. 4-10.

A sophomore from Mechanicsville, Va., Childress was the offensive catalyst behind Mount Olive's 4-0 record last week by hitting .667 with eight hits, including four extra base hits (4 2B), with five RBI and four runs scored. Childress' best performance came in a 5-0 game one win over Millersville, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI and one run scored.


King's Brokering Named Week 5 Softball Player of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University's Kay Brokering was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 25 - Mar. 3.

Brokering, a senior from Shelbyville, Ind., Brokering led King to a 3-2 record last week after hitting .643 with nine hits, including six extra base hits (4 2B, 2 HR), with 10 RBI and eight runs scored. Brokering's best performance came in a 11-1 win over Lynn, going 3-for-3 with two home runs, one double, seven RBI and four runs scored.

HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University's Kay Brokering was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 18-24.

A senior from Shelbyville, Ind., Brokering paced King to a 4-0 record last week after tallying seven hits, including four extra base hits (2 2B, 3B, HR), with six RBI and four runs scored. Brokering's best performance came in a 14-6 win over Davis & Elkins, going 3-for-5 with one double, one home run, four RBI and two runs scored.


Erskine's Payne Named Week 3 Softball Player of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Erskine College's Taylor Payne was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 11-17.

Payne, a senior from Sandy Run, S.C., led Erskine to a 3-0 record last week after notching four hits, including two extra base hits (1 HR, 1 2B), with five RBI and two runs scored. Payne's best performance came in a 10-2 win over Concord, going 3-for-4 with one double, one home run, three RBI and two runs scored.


Southern Wesleyan's Clanton Named Week 2 Softball Player of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Southern Wesleyan University's Lydia Clanton was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 4-10.

A freshman from Waynesboro, Miss., Clanton propelled the Warriors to a 4-2 record last week. Clanton tallied a .611 average on 11 hits, including five extra-base hits (3 2B, 3B, HR), and 12 RBI. Clanton's best performance was a 3-for-4 outing with a double and four RBI in a 10-1 win over Columbia International.


Belmont Abbey's Smith Named Week 1 Softball Player of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College's Morgan Smith was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 1-3.

Smith, a junior from Aiken, S.C., hit .571 and put together a four-hit week with two extra-base hits (2 HR) and eight RBI to lead the Crusaders to a 2-0 opening weekend record. Her best performance was a 3-for-4 outing with two homers and seven RBI in a 17-0 victory over St. Andrews.
