Mount Olive student-athlete alum Sam Mitchell was among nine finalists and 30 honorees overall in attendance at the 2008 NCAA Woman of the Year Award Ceremony October 19 at Indianapolis, Ind. NATIONAL CHAMPION MOC BASEBALL TEAM TO BE GRAND MARSHALS AT TOWN OF MOUNT OLIVE CHRISTMAS PARADEThe Mount Olive College baseball team, 2008 NCAA Division II National Champions, will be the Grand Marshals of this year's Town of Mount Olive Christmas Parade. The parade gets underway Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Mt. Olive Shopping Center. The parade will also include the Trojan Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Cheerleaders, 2008 Pickle Classic Court, 2008 Pickle Classic King and Queen, Criminal Justice Club and English Society. OVERTIME SURGE KEEPS WOMEN'S BASKETBALL UNBEATENTomeka Prichard's three-pointer and Shequanta McGee's (pictured) three-point play highlighted a tie-breaking 14-0 run in overtime as Mount Olive remained unbeaten with a 99-82 win over Converse in Conference Carolinas women's basketball Tuesday at Kornegay Arena. The Trojans outscored Converse 22-5 in overtime and held the Valkyries to one point in the final 3:38 of the extra period. Full Story
