Conference Carolinas soccer teams wrapped-up regular season play tonight and clinched conference regular season division titles. The Limestone College men’s and women’s soccer team was awarded the National Soccer Coaches Association Team Academic Award for the 2008-09, as announced by the NSCAA this week. The Lady Saints posted a 3.14 team grade point average last year to garner this honor. The Saints posted a team grade point average of 3.20 last year to earn the award. This is the second straight year the Limestone men has received this recognition, and the Saints are the only team in region to make the list this year.

Men's Soccer Championship Selections Released by NCAA; Lees-McRae & Queens Qualify; Lees-McRae Set to Host as No. 1 Seed
INDIANAPOLIS -- The NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer Committee announced today the field of 32 teams for the 2007 Division II Men’s Soccer Championship. Four teams were selected from each of the eight regions. Teams from the same region will be paired for first- and regional-round competition, which will be conducted November 8-9 on campus sites. Quarterfinals will be held on campus sites and completed by November 18.

Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Tournament Championship Game: Top-Seeded Lees-McRae Defeats No. 2 Queens 1-0 In Double Overtime; All-Tournament Teams Announced
MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – Lee Squires’ goal in the 107th minute broke a scoreless tie and gave Lees-McRae a conference championship as the top-seeded and nationally second-ranked Bobcats posted a double overtime 1-0 victory over No. 2 seed Queens in the championship game of the 2007 Conference Carolinas Men’s Soccer Tournament Sunday at Mount Olive. Squires was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament.

Thomasville, NC> Conference Carolinas announced the All-Conference teams at the Honors Banquet Luncheon during this weekend's Conference Carolinas Championship Soccer Tournament. Limestone Men's Soccer Team Nationally Ranked for Fourth Straight Week
The Limestone College men’s soccer team maintained its national ranking this week as the team is rated No. 12 in the latest NSCAA/adidas national poll released on Tuesday. This marks the fourth week the squad has appeared in the national poll. The Saints are also tied for first in the Southeast Region. Lynn (9-0 overall) topped the lasted NSCAA/adidas poll, Franklin Pierce (10-0-1) is second, Dowling (11-0) is third, Carson-Newman (7-0-2) is fourth, and Fort Lewis (11-1) rounds out the top five. Limestone was 1-1 last week, losing a hard fought contest to regionally-ranked Queens on Tuesday, 1-0, and then shutting out Coker, 3-0, on Saturday.

CVAC Announces Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll
Thomasville, NC> The Queens University of Charlotte men?s soccer team finds themselves in familiar territory, atop the CVAC men?s soccer poll as voted upon by CVAC head coaches. The Royals return a wealth of talent at both ends of the field and are looking forward to the season ahead. Coach Fred Norchi is extremely excited about the depth of the Queens men?s soccer program this season. He returns an All-American duo at defense with senior Michael Hensen and junior Bruce Mottern who both received the honor last season. The 2005 CVAC Coach of the Year also returns three 1st Team All-Conference Players in Mottern, Hensen and senior Demetrius Donald along with two 2nd-Team All-Conference Players seniors John Ross and Eric Blevens.
