Barton's Blake and Erskine's Hendrix Named Conference Carolinas Softball Players of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College's Jordan Blake was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week, while Erskine College's Morgan Hendrix was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played Feb. 1-4, the Conference announced today.

Blake, a freshman from Jackson Springs, N.C., put together a four-hit week with three extra-base hits (2 HR, 2B) and six RBI to lead the Bulldogs to a 1-1 opening week. Her best performance was a 3-for-4 outing with a homer, triple and five RBI.

A freshman from Kershaw, S.C., Hendrix made a splash in her collegiate debut by picking up a 3-1 complete game win against Wingate. She would give up two hits and one unearned run with five strikeouts and two walks in eight innings of work.
