HIGH POINT, N.C. – North Greenville University's Taylor Koon was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week, while teammate Amanda Coffrin was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played Feb. 5-11, the Conference announced today.
A freshman from Rutherfordton, N.C., Koon led the Crusaders to a 3-1 week after batting .500 with five hits and five RBI. Her best performance was a 2-for-2 game with two RBI in a 2-0 win against Anderson (S.C.).
Coffrin, a senior from Mauldin, S.C., picked up a pair of wins for NGU last week. In 14 innings of action, Coffrin notched 15 strikeouts, issued nine walks and scattered four hits.
