HIGH POINT, N.C. – For the second straight year Limestone College's Shannon Sisk was voted the Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Year. Also notching a major award repeat was University of Mount Olive, as the Trojans captured the Defensive Player and Freshman of the Year awards for the second straight season. Taking home Defensive Player of the Year was Sadie Michael, while teammate Jordan Shughrue was named the Freshman of the Year. In addition, Limestone's Scott Tucker was tabbed Coach of the Year, the Conference announced today.
Sisk, a senior from Brooklin, Ontario, leads the Limestone offensive attack with 106 points after scoring 36 goals and dishing out 70 assists. She paces the conference in total assists and is second in points. Sisk ranks second in the nation in both total assists, third in assists per game (4.38), while also ranking fourth in points per game (6.63) and fifth in total points.
Michael, a junior from Sherwood Park, Ontario, has started every game for the Trojans and leads the conference in caused turnovers (44), while sitting sixth in the leage with 45 ground balls. She captains a Trojan defense that sits atop the league's team statistical standings in both ground balls (483) and caused turnovers (217).
Shughrue, a freshman from Laurel, Md., has played in all 18 contests and started 17 of them at attack for Mount Olive. She leads UMO with 68 goals, which set a new single-season record for the program. Shughrue has also dished out nine assists for a total of 77 points on the year, while having also added 50 draw controls, 33 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers to her season totals.
With Tucker at the helm of the Saints, Limestone earned its 13th Conference Carolinas Regular Season Championship after posting a perfect 9-0 record. He has now won 12 total Coach of the Year honors, with this year's honor being his eighth consecutive award.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 11 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College is currently completing the NCAA DII membership process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
