HIGH POINT, N.C. – Erskine College midfield Kayleigh Burns has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for games played from Mar. 4-10, the Conference announced today. This marks the first POTW for Burns and second overall for Erskine.
A freshman from Dacula, Ga., Burns propelled the Fleet to a 21-9 Conference Carolinas win over Emmanuel last week. Burns tallied nine points on seven goals and two assists with four draw controls and two ground balls.
Burns currently ranks first in Conference Carolinas in goals (33), while ranking second in points (42) and sixth in assists (9).
Also nominated for Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week:
Beth Haynes (Lees-McRae) - Posted six points on three goals and three assists with six ground balls, five draw controls and five caused turnovers in one game.
Marin Felsoci (Belmont Abbey) - Posted 12 points on 11 goals and one assist with 14 draw controls, five ground balls and two caused turnovers in two games.
Meaghan Michaud (Mount Olive) - Posted six points on four goals and two assists with four ground balls in one game.
Courtney Lafler (Limestone) - Posted six points on five goals and one assist in one game.
Aly Estes (North Greenville) - Posted 11 points on seven goals and four assists in two games.
