Eight Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Players Named to United Soccer Coaches Scholar Teams

KANSAS CITY, MO. – Eight Conference Carolinas women's soccer players were recognized as 2018 United Soccer Coaches Scholar Team selections by the United Soccer Coaches Association recently.

Of the eight selections, three were first team, three were second team and two were third team. Limestone College tallied five Scholar All-Region selections. Belmont Abbey College collected two all-region selections, while Southern Wesleyan University landed one selection.

Limestone's Holly RawcliffeLea Hippauf and Veronica Smeltzer were named first team picks. The second team featured two more Saints in Alex Mathis and Millie Shaw, while Rachel Coutinho of Belmont Abbey join them. The third team was made up of Belmont Abbey's Morgan Patton and Southern Wesleyan's Helen Schweiger.

Limestone's Rawcliffe was named a first team Scholar All-America, while teammates Hippauf anf Smeltzer were named third team Scholar All-America picks.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 11 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, and Southern Wesleyan University.
