Conference Carolinas Soccer Championships Semifinals Set for Thursday and Friday

MOUNT OLIVE/MURFREESBORO, N.C. –The 2019 Conference Carolinas Men’s and Women’s Soccer Championships continue this Thursday.

The 2019 Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Championship will be held on Thursday, Nov. 14 (semifinals) and Saturday, Nov. 16 (final) at top-seeded Mount Olive. The Trojans earned their first outright women’s soccer conference championship in 2019. It was their first title in women’s soccer since winning the division in 2011. 

Mount Olive bested eighth-seeded Southern Wesleyan, 3-1, to earn the right to host the semifinals and final of the 2019 Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Championship. Mount Olive will face fourth-seeded Limestone in the semifinals. Limestone picked up a 2-1 win over North Greenville to advance to the semifinals. Third-seeded Barton garnered a 5-0 win over sixth-seeded Emmanuel, while second-seeded Belmont Abbey collected a 2-0 win over seventh-seeded Chowan. Barton and Belmont Abbey will meet in the other semifinal. 

The championship match of the 2019 Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Championship is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 16. 

The 2019 Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Championship will be held Friday, Nov. 15 (semifinals) and Sunday, Nov. 17 (final) at No. 1 seed Chowan. The Hawks earned the right to host the semifinals and final by besting eighth-seeded Lees-McRae, 5-0, in the quarterfinals. Chowan will take on fifth-seeded Limestone in the seminfinals. Limestone upset fourth-seeded Barton, 1-0, to advance to the semifinals. 

Third-seeded Erskine collected a thrilling 2-1 win over sixth-seeded Emmanuel to advance to the semifinals to face off against seventh-seeded Mount Olive. The Trojans upset second-seeded Belmont Abbey, 2-0, to move into the semifinals. 

The championship match for the 2019 Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Championship will be on Sunday, Nov. 17.
