Multiple Sport Policies
(Revised 5/23/18; 9/1/19)
· Completion of Regular Season Play
o When a league championship starts on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday the last day a league regular season contest
may be played and count in conference standings is the prior Saturday.
o When a league championship starts on Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday the last day a league regular season
contest may be played and count in conference standings is the prior Monday.
o There is no restriction for Cross Country, Golf and Indoor or Outdoor Track & Field.
· Soccer, Volleyball, Lacrosse, Tennis and Softball game time scheduling requirements
o Monday through Friday contests are to be scheduled between 1:00 PM and 7:30 PM
o Saturday contests are to be scheduled at or before 7:30 PM
o Saturday contests including a team traveling 200 miles or more are to be scheduled at or before 4:00 PM unless
the contest is the second of a weekend series
o Sunday contests are to be scheduled between 1:00 PM and 7:30 PM
o Sunday contests including a team traveling 200 miles or more are to be scheduled between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM
o Exceptions, sensitive to student athlete welfare, may be granted by the commissioner
· Baseball and Basketball follow specific sport game time scheduling policies
· Cross Country, Golf and Indoor or Outdoor Track & Field do not require a game time scheduling policy
· All league sports - game scheduling requirements (new starting 2018 & going forward)
o All weekend games for all teams that travel 200+ miles will start no later than 4PM (Doubleheader 2PM & 4PM).
o Alterations in back to back scheduling for travel partners are NOT allowed (except for extenuating weather related situations).
· NCAA Automatic Qualification
In the event of a weather shortened tournament the highest seeded team remaining in the tournament becomes the conference champion receiving the automatic NCAA bid. When the winning team is not eligible for automatic qualification the runner up team receives the automatic qualification.
· Seeding for Tournaments Using Winning Percentage
Per AD policy for tennis, softball, soccer, lacrosse, and MVB (already in place for baseball, basketball, WVB) when travel costs have been incurred and would not have a make up, tournament seedings will be determined first by the win-loss percentage where applicable. (2012)
Officials Using Replay
To keep constitancy across all league contests officials will refrain from using replay to determine or change an official's call. Further, by conference policy protests are not accepted and the completed outcome of games stand. In exceptional cases the conference office may revew game tape and penalize players, bench personnel and game officials.
