Conference Carolinas Soccer Programs Recognized for Efforts in the Classroom

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Multiple Conference Carolinas men’s and women’s soccer programs were honored with the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2018-19 year.

Conference Carolinas had four women’s teams (Belmont Abbey, Chowan, Emmanuel and Limestone) and five men’s teams (Chowan, King, Lees-McRae, Limestone and Mount Olive) honored by the United Soccer Coaches.

Both Chowan and Limestone had their men’s and women’s soccer teams earn the prestigious academic honor.

A total of 990 soccer teams (344 men, 646 women) posted a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2018-19 academic year.

Of that total, 255 schools had both their men’s and women’s programs recognized.

United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of high school and college soccer teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year.

College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the 2018-19 academic year.
