Limestone's Morrison and Bennett Named Conference Carolinas Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Limestone College duo Ethan Morrison and Brandon Bennett have been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for meets held Jan. 17 - Jan. 21 , the Conference announced today.

Morrison, a junior from Stockbridge, Ga. led the Saints in the sprints this weekend at the Gamecock Invitational hosted by the University of South Carolina. Morrison picked up an NCAA automatic qualifying time in the 400m dash with 47.26 seconds, placing 2nd in a heated competition. In doing so, he posted the second-fastest time in the NCAA Division II this year and also holds the fastest time within the conference by more than a second, followed by a Limestone teammate. Last but not least of Morrison's accomplishments from this weekend, he is now the school record holder in the 400m dash.

Limestone freshman Brandon Bennett took home top honors in the men's open division of the triple jump at the Gamecock Invitational with a mark of 14.17m (46' 6") improving his previous best mark by nearly a half-meter. Off to a strong start to his collegiate athletics career, Bennett now holds the third-best mark in program history and top mark in the conference this season.

Dominic Pautler (Belmont Abbey) - 6.65m (21' 10") in long jump, 1st place
Trevor Carr (Mount Olive) - 13.97m (45' 10") in triple jump, 1st place
