Julie Ward of King Named Conference Carolinas Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week

GREENVILLE, S.C. – For the third time this season, King's Julie Ward has been chosen as the Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week. 

The league office made the official announcement on Monday, Nov. 11. Ward also claimed Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week accolades on Sept. 9 and Oct. 28. 

Ward propelled King to a perfect 3-0 week last week that allowed the Tornado to take over the top spot in the Conference Carolinas West Division standings. 

On the week, Ward averaged 5.00 kills and 3.18 digs per set while hitting an impressive .336.

Ward hit .579 en route to a career-best 24 kills in King's 3-1 win at North Greenville on Nov. 6. The sophomore from Berthoud, Colo. had 23 kills and 14 digs in King's road win at Emmanuel on Nov. 8. She closed out the week with 15 digs and eight kills in King's 3-0 win at Erskine on Saturday, Nov. 9.  She also had four service aces in the win over the Flying Fleet.
