Leah Hanle of Mount Olive Named USTFCCCA Southeast Regional Women’s Athlete of the Year

NEW ORLEANS – Leah Hanle of Mount Olive has been named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Southeast Regional Athlete of the Year.

The 2018-19 Conference Carolinas Female Athlete of the Year, Hanle in the 2019 season picked up her historic fourth consecutive individual region championship to earn all-region accolades with a 6K time of 20:53.0. Hanle is the first ever to win the individual region title for four straight years. 

The senior from Lichtenstein, Germany also picked up her third Conference Carolinas Women's Cross Country Championship individual title with a 6K time of 21:23.8. She also won the Bulldog Stampede.

Hanle was tabbed Conference Carolinas Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week three times during the 2019 season.
