Mount Olive Unanimous Choice as Favorite in 2019 Conference Carolinas Men’s Cross Country Preseason Poll

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Mount Olive men’s cross country has been unanimously chosen as the favorite in the 2019 Conference Carolinas Men’s Cross Country Preseason Poll.

The Trojans enter the 2019 season looking to claim their eighth consecutive men’s cross country championship. Mount Olive (100) received all 10 first-place votes in the 2019 preseason poll.

North Greenville finished the 2018 Conference Carolinas Men’s Cross Country Championship in fourth place, but the Crusaders were chosen second in the 2019 preseason poll with a total of 80 points. Emmanuel was picked third with 78 points. They were followed closely by Lees-McRae with 77 total points.

Southern Wesleyan (67) was selected fifth in the 2019 preseason poll, which is exactly where they finished the 2018 Conference Carolinas Men’s Cross Country Championship. In fact, the fifth-ninth place spots were identical to the final results at last year’s championship with Barton (51) sixth, Belmont Abbey (45) seventh, Limestone (42) eighth and King (36) ninth.

Men’s cross country newcomer Chowan is 10th in the 2019 preseason poll. Not identified in the preseason poll is Erskine, who will once again field a men’s cross country team in the upcoming season. The Flying Fleet last competed in men’s cross country in 2016.
